Desktop background pictures, mainly produced with applications such as Bryce, Photoshop, and various Photoshop filters. Source tarballs are also available, containing the files used to produce the picture in question. All images (except the rare poster sized ones) are available in sial.org.tar.gz (13M).

Pack I
- Green & Fog - Fractal land is fun.
- Lore - Some eyes, some text.
- Foggy Morning - More mucking around in Bryce.
- Dark Mountains - Some mountains and water.
- Sphere - Some wacky renders of spheres resulted in this one.
- Trees & Sun - Bryce has some trees, too.
- Symbol - More text, and that symbol I use a lot.
Pack II
- Shrine - External view of a special structure.
- Reflections - A 7 by 7 by 7 grid of reflective spheres and a funky camera position.
- Chaos - Like Reflections, but with squares and some obligatory degeneration.
- Fractal Globe - A big reflective ball with a sky above it, plus some fractal garnishing.
- Spider - I saw a neat looking spider in a catalog, so I had to copy it.
- Rock - Created a Rock using Mac Rock, then threw it into a desert background.
- Inside - Inside view of the Shrine below.
Pack III
- Fire - USGS data for Dillon, MT area with water and burning skies added.
- Eternity - A result of me being left alone with Kai's Power Tools for too long.
- Lake - Something I had been working on for a while, but never could get quite right.
- Rose - Well, it started out as a Java Applet...
- Blue - For lack of a better name.
- Chaos II - Matrix-inspired corruption based on the earlier Chaos.
- Eye - Big oval with lots of contrast.
Pack IV
- Salt - A bunch of random cubes.
- Chaos III - Mmmm... chaos.
- Clouds - Point a camera at the "sky" and presto...
- Gates - Some old ruins.
- Flame - Being autumn and all.
- Portal - Door of darkness.
- Snow - White stuff and a few trees.
Pack V
- Red - White stuff around a x-mas ornament.
- Abstract - Snowflakes?
- Three Stones - An ancient shrine of sorts.
- Sphere II - Reflection for fun and profit.
- Vortex - Downward spiral or something.
- Tree - A tree.
- Lights - Funny lights.
Pack VI
- Red Sand - Finger painting lava bad. Filters good.
- Vision - Some white streaks.
- Lace - Redish stuff.
- Meditation - Bring out the blues.
- Star - Can Cythraul.
- Molten - Mutant spheres.
- Abstract II - Wacky cave paintings?
Pack VII
- Gold - Melting stuff.
- Square - Some squares...
- Cubes - Bring out the blues.
- Spires - Bunch of rocks.
- Meditation II - Enhanced Meditation.
- Red Shield - Well, okay, orangish.
- Zero - To end the millenium with.
Pack VIII
- Meditation III - “You cannot control, only catch.” — Tsung Tsai
- Leaves - No real trees harmed during rendition.
- Leaves II - Green stuff, for a change.
- Crypto - Just some text.
- Meditation IV - More meditiation.
